Car passed MOT this morning ,no problems until asked for payment.£40. +£10 for adjusting the headlamps. I thought it was a bit much just adjusting the load adjuster inside the car. Never even lifted the bonnet

If they just did it from the adjuster inside then they didn't adjust the headlights. That's taking the mick really.

Yes, Thats all he did, I was present all way through the test. The bonnet catch was released but bonnet never lifted. Most people though are so pleased to get their certificate they won't mind.When I was a tester years ago just after the 10 year test started we used to adjust headlamps free, Used a line on the back of the garage wall.No emission tests then, and brakes were tested with an inertia device on the passenger floor. Happy days!!

its a bit of a joke the £10, expecially with how costly the mot is now, but at least she passed i guess
