Right, Window tint is going to have to wait a while, got a new clutch fitted this-morning, now much better! Extremely light! :D

How ever, the guys at the Clutch place noticed that there's a few small holes in the exhaust pipe, and loads of rust on the back box, the possibility of the exhaust manifold need a re-sealing as well.... so more money o be spent :( it dose sound like a lot of 'air' is getting out in comparison to the other day.

So now i have the opportunity to increase the sound my little motor makes, and possibly the overall power, if im' correct? Need a little help here, what should I do, a complete new exhaust pipe and back box, etc...

Help :/
Sam

What engine is it you have Sam?

also, when they said about the exhaust, did they say where it was leaking from?

Andy_sx

They said it may be in the pipe, like after it comes from the manifold. And its a 1.2, I fitted a cone air filter a week ago, which really changed the sound of it. :)

Sam Wise

then they were as about as useful as a chocolate sodding teapot as the entire exhaust is a bloody pipe!!!

Where are you based?

I have a full ragazzon system in the shed for a 1.2 incl down pipe and cat, and if your local I can also fit it for you for a small amount of extra cash

its a subtle ish note, not too loud, but you know its there, raspy higher up the rev range (race car esq)

Sweet, yea i get what your saying, thanks man.
Im In Luton, beds.

About how much would you be thinking of,
at the moment im' just finding about this (although the quicker its sorted the better), getting advice n stuff, but am very grateful for the offer and will keep it in mind! :D

Sam Wise

Well then I think Mr Baker, you should pay me a visit and then "Wait for me Mr Frodo Sir" could come to Big-Les for you to fit it and we could have a beverage or 20! ;)

You are just itching to get Andy back in your local ;)

If they'll let him in! ;)
I think they have a mop and bucket with his name on it now. :)

So what do you guys think is the best plan of action, because if i got to a specialist exhausts place, its not gunner be the 'type' of exhaust I want, if you get me. I would have no clue to what to do if i order the parts and tried it DIY though.... :/

Andy is a bit of a legend with the 1.2 (and a bellend in regards to almost everything else, especially holding his beer! ;)) and could probably fit the exhaust he's talking about in less than an our with some axle stands in my garage, or equally as well on his drive.
Like I say, more than welcome to meet up at mine in Biggleswade.

Sam, what sort of exhaust is it you are after?

My ragazzon is an off the shelf item, as close as you will get to supersprint system, but not! its a stainless steel cat back system with an oval tailpipe (will have a look in the gallery in a mo to find a pic for you)

Id be after 200 incl fitting. the cat back and back box alone set me back over 400, plus you can have the what was few month old down pipe too. plus, if you wanted i could also do the manifold (new gasket is probably the easiest way and the gasket itself will only cost about £5 iirc from fiat) for another 20

Oz... as long as we dont go to the pub that sounds like a plan to me! lol ;)

Andy_sx

Ahh Bigglesswade, not far! lol nice, just need to have a price...
How ever there is one embarrassing thing!

Sam Wise

Al, cheers for the vote of confidence... you git! lol

working
in your garage sounds best to me, i have the tools, but a bit of shelter never goes amiss, especially with the superb summer were having...

Andy_sx

And why exactly would you not want to go to the pub? Feeling a little sheepish are we?
Back on topic, I'd grab his hand off there Sam. (He'll only use it for drinking beer otherwise and we know that's not a good thing. :))

Hmmm, you prove the point there. and to get like a 'standard' system from Super tyres is £220....

Sam Wise

A couple of other questions, will the end part fit, because the original is hidden, and pointing slightly downwards, and Is it legal...?

Sam Wise

Yes it's legal and it can be made to clear the bumper, no worries.
Take a look at my gallery (click the link in my sig) and you'll see that my Supersprint comes straight out with no problems at all.

Sweet! so it could look similar to the one on yours, I.e. where it hangs down to show its self off a bit.

I think this may be the answer to all my problems, so to speak. lol

Sam Wise

It'll look similar, indeed. Can't find any pics of Patch (Andy's old car) with the Ragazzon on.
