Hi all,

As part of my project I am modifying my steering and upgrading it to a Fiat 126 rack and pinion. I am doing this as there is too much play in the original design and it's costly to replace all the bit so I may as well change the lot to an improved design. I bought some brackets from a renowned company in Italy thinking I was getting a pair (would have thought so at the price I paid) but I only received one. So I in-listed a local engineer company to copy the one I had. They cad-designed it and have made me some real good copies if not better than the original all lazer cut and tig welded (good old British engineering). As I am having them do a couple for me I was wondering if anyone else here would like a pair? Obviously at cost plus postage, not doing this to make money.

I am not sure on prices yet but they will be way cheaper than the continental stuff. These brackets come with per-drilled holes in them that allow you two spot weld them on or you could bolt them to the chassis. I should have pics and prices by the end of next week.

If interested please call me on 07725134307 as I would like to order a batch.

I will be also designing and building fully adjustable front rose jointed arms so please call if interested. These will have a raised mounting point on the chassis and CNC machined alloy arms.

Hiya,

I had a couple done and they are good spec. I'll post some pics in the next days and the price will be £35 a pair as opposed to £90 + postage from abroad.

I know a couple of you have messaged me for a pair so if anyone is interested please le t me know as I will order another batch.

Pics of the duplicated one and the original. Not much difference a few tweeks for the next batch will be longer tongue i.e. bit at the end that support the clamp and proper pinched nut not nylocks (these ones are slightly melted due to welding.

Nice work. I hope you've been flooded with orders. Anyone wanting to convert their steering, now, or in the future should grab a set at this price. You can cut them out of a 126 like I did, but for 35 pounds why bother?

Really keen to hear more about your front arms. Have you got any prototype pics or drawings?

Cheers Roger

Hi, Just found this thread, I would like to order a pair of these please. I will phone you at a more reasonable time to confirm. I am in no hurry for them and have friends in your area who I frequently meet up with. I live near Hartlepool. Thanks

Hi everyone,

Sold out of existing batch and have inquiries for a new batch.

New batch will have the following mod:

  1. pinch nut instead of nylock nut, nylock was melting due to weld
  2. Mounts reshaped so that the finish is better (no protruding metal on top)

If you are interested please let me know asap as I need to put the order in next week?

If not it will be next year.

Alain

Hi Alain, yes still interested in a pair of these although not in a desperate hurry as I wouldnt be doing the mod any time soon. If you find yourself with a spare pair in the next batch let me know and we can sort it out with paypal or however you prefer. Regards Eric

Hi everyone, I got all your messages and have placed another order today. Hopefully it will be two weeks until they are ready. I will then email you all individually with postage costs. Some going to Canada !!!

Just wanted to say that the price is cost price and I am making no monies on this just helping out other enthusiasts. So please bear with me if I don't get back to you immediately or they take a while to post. I have a job which takes 50 hours of my time a week.

Speak to you soon.

P.S. small amendments included in new batch.

Hi Alain, if you have a spare set, or do another batch, could you put a set aside for me?

Cheers,
Matt

Hi,

I've recently bought a 500 & I wish to convert the car to RHD, 126 R&P steering. A couple of the posters referred me to you for the brackets.

Do you have any more available?

Thanks.
