I'm with Elephant and was quoted £190 to renew (34 year old, driving since T-Rex's roamed the earth, but only 1NCD due to being on wifie's policy). I've stuck an induction kit and exhaust on and declared this to them. Got charged an extra £8. Fair enough.

Then I thought I'd try Direct Line as loads of people say that coz they're direct, they're cheaper. Spoke to the guy and told him about the mods and we went around in circles for ages as he couldn't grasp the concept of an exhaust manufacturer not being able to give me a cert stating the EXACT increase in power I would achieve!!! Idiot/numpty/tube etc. Anyway he ran through the quote with me basign the increase as no more than 10% of standard (not expecting anywhere near that of course) and he eventually came back with a quote of £442. He got upset when I laughed and then went on to imply that I obviously hadn't stated the mods to Elephant even though I told him that at the start.

When I progress to a beige Micra, I may try them again..
