mod chips?

iv been given a mod chip for my fiat seictino should i use it or just leave it....any info i did look it up but only so much info i can get on a phone all i could find was 1 one ebay saying an increase of 25bhp.

There's a few different ones out there, I think +25bhp is exteremely optimistic. It would help to know which one you've got, Ming and MrCento probably know more about them than me tbh.

im guessing if its one of the ones of ebay claiming +25bhp its just a resistor in a bock and tricks your car into thinking its cold all the time thus throwing tonnes of fuel at it but not getting any power increse anwhere near that figure maybe 1bhp if you are lucky but dropping loads o mpg but if its a proper one for the sei then you could be lucky as if i remember correctly its called mcritch or something alongs those line but yeah MrC or ming wouldbe best bet and post a photo of it if you can

Yeah bud, if its a +25bhp chip, take it in your strongest hand, have a run up of about 10ft and throw it as far as you can. They are crap, and very, very bad for the engine. The chip you would want is a mccritch, tbh though, they do run in 899's, just not brilliantly. They are for 1.1's and 1.2 fires. They are fairly complex to fit and involve soldering or the purchase of an earlier cinq unbolted type ecu.

If you can put a pic of the chip you have up though, ill tell you exactly what it is you have

Someone on FF has reported that their 899 don't run right with the Mck chip. So really not much you can do there!

yeah, like i said, they do run with them, but i really, really wouldnt reccomend putting a Mccritch in an 899
