Technical Mk2 UT Piston Rings.....

Right got my UT home and i am 99% sure the Piston rings have gone (missing smokeing etc plus has new turbo and head)
SO what i want to know is can i take the pistons out from the bottom of the engine, OR will they only come out from the top?
any advice welcome

Only from the top, as the main bearings are in the way. First run a compression and leakage test and make sure it's not the headgaket, as when your rings are broke you intake would be throughn full of oil on the inside from the breather pipe.
