Just replaced the alternator belt, glad I did as the original was cracked and breaking. An on the floor job, turn the front drivers side wheel to the right and disconnect the battery, remove the tray that covers the crank pulley then get underneath behind the drivers door to loosen the alternator adjusters. Watch the top threaded bolt, if you unscrew it too far it’s a pain to get back in the threaded block on top of the alternator. If you put your hand on the top you can feel how far the threaded bolt has gone through the block or see it from under the wheel arch.
Feed the new belt in place (there’s a 6 rib on mine) and loosely tighten up the adjusters, run the engine for a minute so the belt settles into the correct running line, switch off, disconnect the battery and retension the belt for about 1/4” free play. Retighten the alternator adjusters fully and you’re sorted.
