General Mk1 Uno IHI turbocharger

Hi everyone,

I'm hunting around after a Mk1 Uno turbocharger (IHI RHB5 VL2/3).

It doesn't even have to be in perfect working order, all i need is the compressor housing and compressor wheel to be in nice shape!

Reason,

Im actually into the Daihatsu GTti, they also use the IHI RHB5 turbocharger like the Mk1 uno, but with a slightly smaller compressor wheel, 155bhp at 18psi is the max all i have managed from the standard one.

I have also made a hybrid up using the bigger compressor wheel from the Isuzu trooper 3.1d/Daihatsu Fourtrak 2.8d, made 182bhp but was not keen on the lag!

Anyway, i'd like to try the uno turbo compressor wheel next!

Even just a good compressor housing would help as i do already have a uno wheel (but its not perfect condition)


I've done the usual searching on Ebay but dont really want to pay big money when all i'm after is the comp wheel and housing!

Forget the Uno compressor.

Use the Isuzu compressor but with the Diahatsu shaft. the Isuzu should be a 38mm inducer? Thats a good size.

i have a spare standard turbo off my mk1 uno turbo, only took it off to replace it with a hybrid

Forget the Uno compressor.

Use the Isuzu compressor but with the Diahatsu shaft. the Isuzu should be a 38mm inducer? Thats a good size.

I've used the isuzu compressor, its the same wheel as the daihatsu fourtrak, it was a bit too laggy, not much boost until 4000rpm, and by that time the torque is not as good.

Standard Charade compressor is 3mm smaller than uno, I made 160bhp with standard, Isuzu/Fourtrack compressor I made 182bhp,

The Uno will be inbetween the 2.

GTti compressor trim is 38, Mk1 trim 43, Isuzu/fourtrack trim 49

Whats the physical size of the wheel? lag should be virtually no different using this compressor wheel everything else equal. I've fitted the 38/52.5 Isusu/Mazda compressor in many Fiats and it has no effect on lag at all.

btw Uno wheel is smaller, only 34/50mm

I've just bought a Novitec compressor wheel & modified housing off Ebay Germany for £70 delivered.It's suposed to spin up lower down & give an increase in 25bhp. Hope it works
