Mk1 Punto 60SX tuning issues.

Hi all, I have a Mk1 Punto and I'm having trouble finding various parts for it.
The main thing I have been having trouble finding is a decent induction kit (I know that it may be common and that the advice is generally to overlook them) but I would like to fit one.
I have seen that the best kits for them are the GSR kits???
Were can we find these.

Also I know that these cars aren't designed to be racers or to be drag cars (this model at least) but is there any little tweaks that could aid performance?

Bigger throttle body (P75 can be adapted), induction kit, Uno 45 inlet manifold (ported), P75 cam, tubular exhaust manifold. There are also chips available.

But you'll need to upgrade brakes (Marea/Punto GT3 front calipers and disks are a straight fit with 14" wheels), suspension, brakes and tyres.

Thanks guys I do try and keep the motor well serviced. When first got the car it had a mini service. And its due MOT in 2 month so it will get a full service then.

Some good tips there I guess its time to crack on. Would it not be worth looking at P85 parts or would they not fit. P85's are MPI aren't they

p85 is 16v, so head is completely different - nothing of note you can use really other than the whole engine.

Would be possible to convert it to p75 though, would basically mean swapping the head and possible the ecu (not sure on that bit, i like mechanical things not electric)

I am unsure whether it will be worth tuning this or waiting and then trying to get a sporting or even a GT

Obviously most parts ill be able to keep for my next one.

Depends how much faster you want it to be really - it would be cheaper to insure a stock sporting than your car modified. However, a GT is a whole different league of car, it has alot more power and torque than a sporting, its much much faster. As such it has a much higher insurance group. But if you want a quick car you will not be disappointed, finding a decent one is no easy task though.

Yeah I was having a look while I was at work today and could only find one that was in Manchester. I'll have a good look when I get time and then start saving so if one comes up I can nab it. I was also thinking about going back to my Cinq Sporting days but I really do like me Punto a bit too much

Does anyone know if fiat coupe seats are a straight swap for Mk1's?

never done it but in general no seats from another car will just bolt straight in without any modification - but its not like that swap hasn't been done many times so they will fit. Have a search, sure you will find a thread somewhere where someone has done it
