missing

my 1.6 bravo runs ok but starts missing when idle,its due MOT will it fail on this.

Age, milage, service history?

Does it miss constantly or every few seconds?

thanks Tom,its a 51reg 41000miles serviced every year last done march had a injector changed last month,it misses constant when ticking over.

Stick some new plugs in it for starters.

Engine can be as sick a parrot but can still pass an MOT.....ONLY if it doesn't cause any problems with the emissions....

thanks mark thats wot i thought, but they do an idle test for the Mot and when its missing im not sure if it will fail

My lambda sensor was screwed when I put mine in for MOT, and therefore the engine was coughing, spluttering etc etc all over the place... even cut out a few times....

It passed the MOT because the emissions were just under the limit....

As Mark says, the engine emissions are tested at tick-over. a misfire will not fail it but it might affect the reading

The emissions are actually tested at natural idle and at raised RPM.
