Ive had a scan of the search on the forum and the other sections on here and cant find anything...might be being stupid.

The baseplates on me mirrors have started to corrode and the black coating is peeling off. Just wondering what other people have done with theres when this has happened. Are they ok to clean up and spray?, is there an aftermarket replacement that i can still fit the standard mirrors too? or is it best to sand blast them and just coat them again?

Many thanks and any ideas taken on board, though i would like to keep the standard mirrors if poss because i like to keep the car looking quite standard

Its a 99 Bravo HGT 155 not that it makes a dfference to the mirrors i dont think.

I had this problem too...Wimmy recommended to me that they could indeed the sanded down and sprayed, I never got round to it though :)

Had the same problem on my Bravo, just sand em' down back to bare metal, you'll notice where it's corroded it'll of gone like a white powder make sure all of this is removed otherwise a few months down the line all your hard work will be undone.

Give them a coat of primer (I used Halfords red oxide metal primer) then spray them your desired colour :)

As the others have said take to bare metal and paint with primer, then whatever colour takes your fancy.
