here, i keep an eye on the french clasifieds for a future JTD replacement to my marea, and this advert has been up for a while now, it keeps appearing and it seems that nobody wants it, which is understandable, it's an english car, in france, and it's a petrol automatic.
diesel is cheaper than petrol here so, unless you ONLY use your car for popping to the shops, or a 5 minute commute, or you own a performance car, there is no reason for the average joe to own one.
anyway long story short, i though this might interest somebody over the channel. from the look of it, the car is in TOP NICK!!

only problem might be re-converting it back to UK documents, i have no idea of that process.

the asking price is nearly 1700 quid which would be reasonable for a car of that mileage here in france (not for a RHD model obviously), but the car has been on sale for nearly 6 months here in france, and they do say "a débattre" which means they are open to offers and will discuss the price.

it's an ELX so standard trim applies but i'll do a quick translate for the options.

electric windows
quick release towbar
Audio controls on the steering wheel
automatic air conditioning
electric rear view mirrors
central locking
both blue keys
power steering
automatic gearbox
ABS

MOT ok, timing belt OK, Oil change and filters recent, tyres and brakes in very good condition

Aren't there any contradictions?

Boîte de vitesse : Manuelle

later:

Boîte automatique

Kilométrage : 69 100 KM

later:

69030 miles = 111093 kms

Is it manual or automatic? What does the odometer count, kilometres or miles?

There seems to be some suspicious with that car. And for being on sale for six months surely confirms this. Everything isn't always as good as it looks like.

it's always a possibility that there is something unsaid, but i put those inconsistencies down to small typos and laziness. look at the photo, it's clearly an automatic, and you see the steering wheel on the right hand side, it's definately a British vehicle, so it will be miles.
i assume the reason it has been on sale for 6 months is due to the price being too high for it being RHD and petrol engine, and the Marea not being a popular car in france (it isn't french made).
