Technical Mileage not showing

Hi all. Bought a Marea recently and the mileage LCD display isn't working. I can see the numbers faintly behind and they are changing. Is there any way of sorting this or will I need to change the full clocks? Its a 97 R 1.6sx.
I've seen a couple of clock sets in the local scrap yard but one is from a diesel and the other is from a 51 plate 20v, would these fit or do I have to get them from the same model if needed.

Not sure if it is the same problem, but I can see mine in daylight clearly but at night I can't.

This is due to the little led bulb behind the lcd panel not working.

I haven't bothered chaing it yet but if you can see yours in daylight then I would suggest the bulb has gone.

This can be easily replaced with a little time and skin off your fingers....
I'm sure there is a guide aroudn here somewhere if this is the case.

Can't see them during the day. I can just about see a faint outline of the numbers but have to be really close.

You need to go to Fiat and buy a dash bulb. I had the same problem on my Marea. I think the bulb was a 1.2 watt and it comes with the plastic bayonet holder, cost about three quid.
Once you have that then it is out with the instrument pod and swap the old one out. Not too difficult or time consuming just a bit awkward manoevering the pod out past the steering wheel but it does go, you will have to take the cowlings around the steering column and the instrument pod off first though.
