It's not exactly the first film but certainly no third and most definitely not the television series, which I kind of vaguely liked. Also, he directed Never Say Never Again which was Kim Basinger's first major film and a worthy alternative to the official James Bond film of that year, Octopussy. That said, the former had a Renault 5 Turbo as the main chase car, Octopussy had a GTV6 :wink:
Heard about his passing yesterday as well, the director of the best Star Wars film and therefore a hero to many a geek and sci-fi fan (not mutually exclusive of course) alike. Hope you gave George Lucas hell whenever you could.
