Until 2 weeks ago I had a spare set of alloys for my Marea. Its a JTD130 Weekend and came with 5 1/2 J's. My spare set were 6 J's. To get it through the MOT I put two of the 6 J's on. Unfortunatley before I could get new rubber on the replaces 5 1/2's someone got into my back garden and stole them along with the spare 6 J's.
My problem is this. Until I can get two more 5 1/2's, is it safe to run on a mixed set? If so should I have the 6 J's on the front or the rear? Finally does anyone know why the JTD130 HLX Weekend runs on 5 1/2's and the petrol 2.0 HLX Weekend runs on 6 J's?

The 6 J's are 1/2" wider than the 5 1/2 J's although they all have 195/60 tyres.
My worry is that the wider wheel may catch on something either at the front or rear. I know the track rod end for the JTD130 is model specific because I just had one for the MOT - I'm guessing that if it's a longer track rod end then you would need a thinner wheel???
I'm going to try the wider ones at the rear and see what happens - unless anyone can tell me differently.

I wouldnt think they'd catch all the Marea's have wider arches anyway, if you have the long style indicators. The alloys off the 20v if there like the HGT ones you can fit 205/50/15's too as well as 195/55/15, for Bravo anyway check the handbook.
