Hi,

I have a Fiat Marea Weekend 1.6 ELX 2001. I just recently purchased this vehicle and must say I am happy. Although I do have one slight concern is that sometimes the clutch when pressed it will stick down and on other occasions the clutch is difficult to press down at all. Gear changes are no problem at all once the clutch is pressed so am assuming the clutch itself is just fine.

Has anyone got any ideas where the problem could be?

Thanks in advance.

It is possible for the hydraulics to cause this, an internal collapse of the flexible pipe can cause the fluid to lock and the clutch to stay disengaged. This sounds more like a problem in the release bearing or the actuating fork. This will be a bell housing off job, and it would be normal while in there to change the clutch and release bearing anyway.
