Technical Marea Troubles!!!

Hi, please can anyone offer advise..... I have brought a 1999 Weekend Marea and the injector light comes on, on the dash and is running on 3 cylinders.

It was running really rich, but I have seemed to have sorted the problem as their was oil coming up from the engine breather pipe.

I am looking to now replace the injector as I have taken the connector off the number 1 cylinder and it runs on 3.

Is there any way of checking the injector without removing from the engine to see if it is working ok?

I am also after downloading a diagram of the engine, as well as advise on how to replace the injector (if this is the problem?)..... does anyone know another way around this or a website to down load diagrams??

I am newly registered to this site and would really appreciate some help

PS. I am not a mechanic, and am currently working with my eyes closed and just aliminating possible causes as I go... so all advise gratefully received.

i would do a compression test on it first !

Is it a 1.6? This is regular thread on here. Do an archive search as Jug has posted the resistances for good and bad injectors, he recomends a visit to a scrappy with your ohmeter.

Thanks for this.... I'm almost at breaking. I have reviewed the archives and since stripped the injectors out. I am in the process of seeking an injector (Part number 71718998) and will be off to the scrappy at the weekend.
