Marea stereo keeps switching on....

Good day,

Have recently purchased a cheap Marea weekend to run as a second car. Have been exremely pleased with it so far, but recently noticed that the stereo keeps switching on and off when the ignition key is out and the car is parked.... Is this a common fault that others have experience ? Any clues to the fault ?

I will be returning to a flat battery soon i fear !

Welcome to the forum

Hold mute and it will change the mode to manual. It is currently in auto/ignition on.
The display will say "ign off" or "ign on" to confirm the change

Edit: sorry you have to hold mute down while the stero is off

Hi I misread your post. I thought it said the stereo goes on and off with the ignition not randomly on and off while the ignition is off.

Something sounds broken but setting the head to "Ign off" may stop it happening.

It's a known issue with the Marea/Bravo/Brava head units.

You can either remove and replace with aftermarket. Remove and replace with another from scrap yard. Or remove and try having it fixed - throw it in freezer etc.

heh, answered both my questions in a single thread, excellent.

i think i'll throw the old marea HU i have from the turbo in the JTD in that case
