Marea Headlight Question

Just a quick question for anyone who has fitted the poly headlights, or even for marea owners. I fitted them to my bravo before christmas and due to the sharp beam cut off, i can see the light vibrating/shaking when im following behind another car at night. Is this normal or did i get a bad set of lights? There was a slight shaking from one the standard bravo lights before, but i dont know if that was normal either. I have checked all connections and bolts so i dont know what else i can do. Can anyone offer advice?
Cheers

Had a set o my old 1.8hlx, i can not help! never had shaking?

Sorry

Have you played with the electric headlight adjusters? that may help

thats normal

with poly-eliptic headlights the light beam is very sharp and it is little annoying

you can set them just a little higher than normal, there is no risk to dazzle opposite drivers

Re: thats normal

If you dont get the electric headlight adjustment fitted correctly in, then the internal workings of the light are loose.

Check this by parking facing a wall and use your electric adjustment switch on your dash. If the beams move then thats ok, maybe ones ok and the other is not connected properly. You'll notice on the wall if you try this out.

Second, you need a garage to align your headlights, they connected just be fitted and left as they are.

Third, the headlights are attached to the wing by a sort of ball socket. If you break this then your lights will have some movement and the socket will need replacing.

Check these out.

Re: Re: thats normal

Thanks for the feedback guys, but everything youve suggested has already been done. The electric height adjustment works fine, i made sure to fit the ball into the socket and i got them aligned at a garage the day after i fitted them. So i guess i'll just have to live with it. Its just one of those niggly little things that irritates, you know!

Have you connected the bulbs in properly? Are the clips on securely and not at a angle?

If your standard lights did the same thing then it maybe something to do with how your car absorbs vibrations.

If you put your fingers under the headlight and gently pull up and down is there movement in any?

Re: Re: Re: Re: thats normal

Yup the clips are secure as far as i can tell, and there isn't any play in the unit itself. The lights were on a marea in a breakers for about a year, but it hadn't been stuffed, the auto gearbox went, so i can't see how they could have been damaged there.

Thanks for the help anyway mate, appreciate it.
