Some 8 months of trying different shades of paint I've finally got round to getting the grille on the car!
Sent my petrol cap off to Auto Paint @ St. Helens and they mixed up a matching paint can. Spot on too! They had mixed up a can for me before but using manufacturer's guidelines and it was way too dark. Thought the best way would be to provide a sample. Quick turn-around in service too, once posted it was 3 days until I had my cap and can in hand!
Anyhow, here's the results:
Now I know its not to everyone's taste but I like nobbly bumpy bits on cars. I'm not into smoothing things out, etc. I like detail to look at
It's difficult to tell from the pictures but the grille is just about spot on - the colour is consistent running from bonnet down.
My car seems to be gradually turning into a Marea. .. headlights on, grille on, marea plastic handles on and centre console is coming soon! Still, its mods to the car that keep it very close to the original design - and that I like.
/me thinks....
Anyone got a Marea rear end for sale?
