I have just got my centre console but had to take it out of the car myself, in doing so i saw the underneath part and thought that has nothing to do with the console but now i am thinking the bits underneath were used to connect the console in place and used for the air from vents to put ut through the console. My current car doesnt have them but when i look the vents are included in the existing console so in the marea it must be seperate.

Do i need this bit?

I would say yes those bits are definately needed. Without them the rear vent won't work. You'll be missing some mounting brackets too. Also make sure you take a look at svens guide for installing the centre console.

Centre console fixing

Pretty much done it, i just wanted to let everyone know, the bracket at the back of the unit does fit in the bravo.

There was a connection plate that went over the top of everything and this went towards the back vents bt it wouldnt fit under the consle and the bit i took out of the marea didnt have anywhere to go on the bravo, still srted so the vents worked though!

I took it out of the marea, the 2 screws at the back of the existing console come out, there are 2 small holes a little further towards the dash, if you take out the metal connections and put them in the other holes then the back tall connector fits straight in.

This is definatey something everyone should do, best thing i have done with the ca to date!! ha ha

Cheers

glad ur done and happy with it mate.
thinking of doin mine, how long has it taken roughly?

i agree on that :) I like mine now its in,was chuffed once i fitted it,makes the car looks so much nicer and comfier hehe
Mines been retrimmed same colour as my car's cloth so suits nicely :)

Oh it took me abut 30-45 mins..Wasnt long really once you crack on with it..
Only thing i didnt have was the pipe for the rear air vents, but not too bothered about that tbh

Yeah same here about 30 mins the only difficult bit is keeping the pipes in for the air vents and changing the back bracket.

As for the air vent, i did have the pipe for the rear seats however it doesnt fit under plus the bravo doesnt have the vents from the dash to connect the rear vents up so all in all the rear vents donw work but they didnt work before anyway?

Definately a lot better, makes car comfier to drive!

I am also goignt o get the air rest re padded and re trimmed, i just need to find a door card in my colour and i am away!!

If you need any specific info send me a pm or e mail me, cheers dude.

Yep there are 2 vents underneath the dash, there are 2 pipes from the marea, one connects to the 2 vents and comes out of the side of the console (like the existing standard bravo one) and the 2nd pipe (the bigger one) will connect through to the back vents but the bravo doesnt (or mine doesnt) have anywhere for the main big pipe.

I could have fabricated (speaking like Orange County Choppers!!) the 2 pipes out of the dash to fit in the big hole and run to the back of the car but then i wouldnt have had the air in the footwell twice.

Now i have air coming in to the footwell right at the toes and i also have it coming in just in front of the seat.:)

When i tried the main pipe for some reaso it was tight for the console to fit on and as the car is used for me only i thought it was better to leave it out.

On sunday ill be taking it apart to put the fag lighter in and finish it all off (sound deadening etc) so ill have another look and see if there is any way you can get 2 vents under their.

Definately agree it is better when re trimmed, i just need to find some trim to cover mine!!
