Detailing... Hmmmm detailing, I read, I check websites, I look on our forum which has great advice.

I then go shopping..... £135.00 later I have the dark side products.

Really still can't believe I spent that much....

It better make the car look good!

Sealing products maybe...new cars get sent to detailing shops so I had a look at mine and after two washes it was covered in swirl marks and felt rough even though I was careful washing it.

So.....followed all the rules and regs...washed, compound, polish and wax.

Done the bonnet and sides and the difference is very noticeable....like glass.

Once you're happy with the surface Kev do the wax bit two or three times, it will build up and give it a garage to carry around wherever it goes.

Was there any snow foam on your shopping list? the only way to wash it in future and be sure not to get swirl marks.

Is not snow foam used with pressure washer?

Didn't seem to need it as there was not too much contamination. The compound seemed enough...(y)

Tbh could probably benefit from a clay incase of any minuscule bits of overspray on different bits and bobs.

A mentioned get a good few layers of wax on it and cleaning in future will be a lot easier. I done this to the white Selecta last summer and the results were amazing IMO :)

The 750L will get the same treatment once she's had her tidy up in a month or so.

And don't forget washing isn't cleaning, you simply wash before you clean! :D

I use one of those manual chemical pressure sprayer things to get the snow on, works pretty well in a 2:1 water:foam mixture :)

Edit: Once you've got all the kit, you'll be doing everything every tme you think about washing it, it's a vicious circle ;)

Just use Meguiars Quikwax to upset all the detailer fans. My 127 was resprayed about 7 years ago and I've never used anything else on it (not even proper wax) - paint is still absolutely perfect gloss and never needs any clay etc. Despite what it says on the bottle, I use it on glass, rubber, bumpers etc - all come up perfect & the glass doesn't even smear on the windscreen. Give it a wash, then half an hour to do the whole car, simples (y)

Of course some people like spending 3 days detailing a car, but I'd rather drive it :)
