hi newbie here. Just bought my second punto, great little cars, slight problem tho. 2001 1250cc punto go. idle is a little bit lumby and can be felt when accelerating, more obvious when cold. fairly sure its not a conventional misfire and car does accelerate quickly and ain't slow for what it is. was thinking lambda sensor, but as there are 2, 1 before cat 1 after, can't go replacing willy nilly:D any ideas? no engine light lit, starts well, new plugs gapped and fitted timing marks checked.(y)

Hi Olivia and welcome to the forum.

Although I don't have any in depth knowledge of your Fiat model I have heard that coil packs are prone to faults so it might be worth having a look here.

Plenty of other useful info in the Punto Guides section but if you still need help have a search through the main Punto forum and if you can't find what you need just ask and I'm sure that you will get lots of informed assistance. (y)

Hope you get it sorted out OK. (y)

going back to my original thread, i followed suggestions about the coils and found a pair of new lucas coils on ebay for £20 so decided to replace them. there was no obvious improvement other than idle seemed a little smoother. anyway mpg seemed good so left alone. however back in march engine light came on:eek: borrowed a code reader and code came back as primary coil a:confused: still seemed to run fine and light stayed off for a while. now tho when starting (hot or cold), it seems to try and stall/miss. give it a little throttle and it clears then everything runs fine, but engine light is on. any ideas?
