Technical Low fuel warning

Replaced my battery last week because it finally died on me. Fitted it and car started straight away and been perfect since, only problem now is that when I start the car im getting a low fuel warning even though I have half a tank of fuel?

Anyone any ideas? Could this be due to the new battery?

Just says low fuel, no light.

Could try leaving the battery disconnected for half an hour; this has been known to cure all manor of strange electrical glitches.

Mine started doing that yesterday tank is 7/8 full grande punto multijet 2006 after I start engine LOW FUEL WARNING comes on digital display then goes out after a few seconds when I press stalk to check for RANGE nothing there just --------
Any idea anyone?
