After weeks sifting through dreadful looking Grande's i finally stumbled upon one which to look at ( inside and out) is amazing and within my price range. It is a2008 plate and has done over 60,000. I took a test drive only to discover the clutch virtually is down to the floor. There is no biting point and the selection on the gears not solid. The ignition also cranked and the vehicle buckled a few times. The seller has asked for £1000 for it but agreed to bring it down to £950.She is a very nice elderly woman and has been very accommodating Should i walk away?

Welcome to the forum :)

Which engine and how many miles are on it? Also what variant (ie Active, Dynamic, etc)? From what you've said, a new clutch and maybe a new battery are all it needs (and the price isn't too bad if that is all it needs).

Hi

Thank you for responding.. I think it is an Active model.. I am not certain it is all it needs because i did not thoroughly check out the other parts, although the engine seems to be running nice and smoothly.. I have been looking on YT and it is not consoling to learn that the grande are problematic. Is this the case?.. I was told it will cost me about £500 to repair the faults. I am not sure it is the battery problem , as it spins strong and drives

Clutch pedal down doesn't mean it's worn, just telling there's probably air in the circuit, for the other issues (and bleeding the clutch) you better bring the car to a good mechanic. For that price and the low mileage I would go ahead ...

Well, as suggested, it probably needs a full service (recommended anyway), pretty old car, few miles, elderly owner : all ingredients for a recipe of good deal, but you'd still have to add some butter and cook it ;-)
