Technical Little box of tricks under the bonnet!!!

Hi all, I have only recently bought my Ulysse and I am trying to slowly sort out a few diggles on the car, its a 2004 2.0 diesel. Some one has butchered a relay unit which is situated under the bonnet on the passenger side underneath the passenger air intake. It looks like it had a geen plug into the unit with 4 or 5 very thin wires attached in light green/yellow. A very thick red lead and two earthing leads. this now has been cut open and a seperate relay fitted with a push button in the car to operate the relay. Once this button is pressed I can see the headlight dim slightly so it is taking some juice up!! I cannot see what it does though can anyone help??? Dave

Does it look like the attached pic? if so it's the Glow Plug heater relay.

Thanks Maverick, thats the part in question however its been hacked to pieces so it was quite unidentifyable? Looks like it'll be a bit of a rewiring job to fit a new one......
