Limited slip diff

Hi all,

Just a daft question really... Do the Marea 2.0 20v models have a limited slip diff as standard? Haven't seen any reference, but I know some Fiat Coupes have them.

Reason I'm asking.. was in a car park the other day, rolling backward on the gravel. Lifted the clutch in 1st and got a spot of wheelspin (no, not a Chav Burnout type thing!). When I looked back at the marks (only 2 feet long max.) there were equal length on both sides of the car. Didn't think this should be possible without a LSD as normally just one wheel would spin.

Any ideas, folks?

The HGT has so i guess so does yours.

If your tyres are the same and so was the tarmac then in theory they would both spin.

However if one was on gravel and one was on tarmac, you will notice the diffence.

Its easy to spin both wheels like that if they are on the same surface and the steering is dead centre.

Certainly the coupe turbos have a viscous LSD but that won't totally stop you from spinning one wheel. There is a HUGE difference between an off-road 4x4 style locking diff and a road LSD. Its all in the 'limited' bit

A locked diff would be a whore to drive on the road as it would not want to steer.
