Ok guys I'm stumped.

All of the sudden it seems my sidelights and my tail lights have stopped working. So has the light on my dash telling me that my lights are on. Headlights and full beam still work fine.
Here's what I've tried so far (i'm a noob)...

1)Checked the fuses, all seem fine. Tried replacing the fuses with spares and with ones already in different slots. No use.

2)Looked at bulbs, no indication they have blown.

Anyone had something similar? I'm going to get some more bulbs tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath. Like I say it's a little weird them all going at the same time and the light on the dash too.

Sounds like a fuse, have you defiantely checked the right ones? The ones under the steering wheel?

Could also be a bad earth somewhere.

Joske

yep, more than one bulb going at the same time normally means a fuse or a dodgy earth, and if they have gone front and rear, I would bet on a fuse

Yeh I think so. going off the BOO fuse guide cos the one in the Haynes book is wrong. It's fuses 6&7. My dads gonna have a go tomorrow. I get fustrated with things like this.

My front headlights on my Bravo are fuses 4 and 8. Check them.

Joske

Thanks Joske but it's my side and tail lights I'm having trouble with ;)

Ok its fuses 6 and 7, they are for sidelights and tail lights. Hence should solve your problem.

These are the fuses near the steering wheel, the lower set of fuses.

Could very likely be the light switch. Won't be bad earth if it's front AND rear lights and dash light not working. So fuse or switch

Well it's not the fuses so I took the car to an auto electrician. He tells me it's the switch and told me to phone Fiat on monday and get one ordered. Anyone know roughly at what price I'm looking at paying?

Damian

Most people get one from the scrappies. Pricey new one from Fiat

Yup, another stalk bites the dust, methinks.

I don't really have time to trawl through scrappies, got essay deadlines galore besides who knows how long the scrappy one will last? Also father has offered to pay for repairs cos I'm skint.

4 years ago lights went dodgy - stalk needed.

Problem is you have to get the whole thing - indicators/windscreen wipers/lights - not just one side.

Cost around £120 new for it. Ouch!

check the connector under the steering column shroud crimp up the connectors and it might work. it did on mine

Ok will do. Failing that I'm gonna phone fiat on monday and get a price. Depending on what my dad thinks of the price (as he's payin :D) I might just ring round scrappies cos I don't wanna pay over the odds for Fiat. Does anyone know any Fiat specialist shops in the North West or that might take phone orders and post out?
