I acquired a 1993 Uno Start with FIRE engine late in 2008 as my previous daily driver (1967 Saab 96) was getting diffficult to obtain parts for and I needed another simple un-complicated vehicle that I could load a bicycle into, and that would be more environmentally friendly. I had driven a mark one Uno before on several occasions and saw the mark 2 for sale at the side of the road. It was low mileage (about 54k) and not horrendously rusty. I have found the car really pleasant to drive, very enconomical but so far not very reliable.

I have spent about £2,000 on mechanical repairs including a blown head gasket (in France) requiring a replacement cylinder head and I have one remaining fault. The car starts from cold on 2 or 3 cylinders and takes about 3 miles running until it will run on 4. It is then fine all day. I would like to cure this problem before starting to spend any money on rust repairs. Any ideas anyone?
