Just imported it from Germany and need to get the headlamps aligned for Ireland before the CVRT
welcome any suggestions please.
thanks

I believe many european vans are set up for flat dipping, that is they dont dip to the right or left as in Uk (and eire?) take to the test station to ask, as may be acceptable as is or just to add tape in the correct place. or they may insist on new headlamps. Info from motorhome forums state over here it is variable what is acceptable (again in uk). Dont forget the rear fog lamp position, again in Uk it has to be in centre or right or both sides not left on its own.

Thank you so much for this clear set of suggestions. Fog light is in the middle so happy days on that, will bring the van to the test centre as you suggested.

Can i just add , as this is a motorhome , of German origin , that you examine the head lights themselves . My head lights (Hymer 584 , year 2000) have a left/right conversion setting , simply by releasing three screws , and rotating the body about an inch . The headlight is in two parts , where the main body remains attached to the vehicle , and the portion that moves contains the bulb , if that make sense . It's not easy to access on my van , you have to remove the plastic inner wing , though i have only recently removed these three screws and replaced them with thumb nuts . I'm not familiar with the Knaus make up , so i can't advise how to gain access , however , i would suspect it will probably be something similar , i just can't be certain . Knaus are part of the same group , who own Hymer , and i really can't think of any good reason to remove this feature .

ThanksAirwave, mine is a semi integrated vehicle so its on a Fiat Chassis.
Current plan is to bring it to the CVRT and let them tell me what needs doing

Some of those headlamps have 2 positions for the bulb if it is a H4 just unclip and turn or flatten the edge to turn it.

Any, some good news, As its a 2021 van, it does not need a CVRT until 2025 so happy days re the lights for now.
It only got clarified when I made a CVRT booking and they sent me the wrong fee, so I queried the fee to be told I don't need one till My 2025

It may not need the CVRT until 2025, but it's probably still an offence if you're using headlamps that are aimed the wrong way and dazzle oncoming drivers.

I get that and I will have them looked at/ fixed etc, the issue was if it failed the CVRT, I only had 21 days to get it fixed, am heading to France in Sept for a spin so will get them sorted when I get back.
The misinformation I had was that it needed CVRT before I could tax it.

If it's 2021 probably has the H7 bulbs and there could be a cut out on the headlamp to move them to RHD.
