General Leather v fabric seats ? New buyer

Hello
I am in the market for a 1.9sporting and seen one not to far from myself.

It has leather seats but I'm not sure if I prefer the cloth versions, what are your opinions ?

Just another one , the car is quite cheap. It's a private seller so maybe this is why as I am comparing to dealers. Is there anything I should look out for other than the gear box issues ?

In terms of interior I really like the S2 Sporting fabric ones I looked at 2 sets of leather interiors and they were full of creases and cracks and a few splits especially on the drivers seat. Without doubt the leather seats are nice I just don't believe they are hard wearing.

1.9 multijet is S1 seats so its 9 dot pattern, personally i much prefer the cloth seats to the leather one's. They just dont look as nice IMO

Having had two cars with leather in the past I think it looks and smells nice but it isn't worth the comfort compromises. It gets too hot and sticky in summer and is cold in winter.


Some cars need a leather interior to look right (like an Alfa 159), but the humble Grande isn't one of those cars. Also, the spotted S1 sporting seats look great and are too big a sacrifice.

My old car had full leather and although it was easy to maintain, it made my car freezing In the morning and unbearably hot in the summer! My S2 T-Jet has the striped cloth interior and the seats are so much comfier! And although I clean them quarterly I prefer cloth overall. It makes the car that much more comfortable.

I have the same seats and they are more comfy than my settee lol

I think the leathers are garbage in the pinto lets face it its still fiat, id go cloth
