not to the forum, but to Seicento ownership.
Looking for a cheap second car for the other half we soon gave up on the wrecks being passed of as drivable, just because they carried a Ford/Vauxhall/Peugeot badge.
We stumbled upon an absolutely mint, silver Seicento Abarth. 1999, barely a mark on it and certainly no rust, inside or out. Every MOT since birth, to verify a frankly ridiculous 34K on the clock. Upholstrey virtually perfect also. Engine sounds sweet and suspension/ride was great. Quality Sony radio/CD. Taxed & MOT.
Gleefully parted with £1200.
5 miles down the road on the way home after collecting tonight. Clutch cable snaps.
Garage was closed when we rang and no roadside cover so basically stranded 10+ miles from home. :bang:
.... then, as we are trying to figure out what the hell to do next, a car stops and asks is we have a problem.
.."erm, yes, the cars busted".
t'other half recognises the young lad as a mechanic from the garage from where we just bought it....!
Helps us to move and secure the car and says he'll get it collected in the morning.
Now either this is the most elaborate and softest car jacking scam known to man, or the world is a very strange place.
New to Fiats, can we expect more of this sort of odd sh!t in the coming years ?
