whats the best way to do the final sanddown on the lacquer coat. i know that u sand it down using 1200/1500/2000+ grit wet and dry and do it using plenty of water but is there any other tips to get the finish looking smooth and glass like? i.e pressure required, sanding down corners etc. i dont wanna rub it down to the point of going through to the primer but dont want it to look shoddy either.

It all depends on how the laquer coat looks. Its only the very surface of the laquer coat you want to reduce, you don't want to be into the colour coat, let alone the primer.

Unless you have severe orange peel, I'd probably stick to a compound and buff.

it all depends on the clear coat used as to what grade paper you can use, is it ms, hs or uhs?

how much clear have you applied? Is it a cheap aerosol lacquer?

if i get a run il; cut it off with a stanley blade once its dry. If its cheap crap aerosol lacquer itl be quicker to wash it off with 2k thinners and start again, because the paint is thinned down so much to put it through the aerosol that it has no build qualities at all
