Technical Knocking when coasting...

Front left (I think).

Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock... accelerate *silence*

Ease off... knock knock knock! Brake... *silence*


I've not done anything for it yet. Replaced the drop links about a month or so ago. Have noticed a slight vibration which was worse some days than others for the last 2 months. Some weeks it's not there. A couple of occasions it's felt like the balance wasn't quite correct.

I'm thinking... wheel bearings, CV, driveshafts. Other options?

Have you had a look in your boot might be somebody trying to get out lol couldnt help it had to say something. Havent had that sort of problem but would be thinking cv or driveshafts.

The good news is I don't have a bust CV joint or driveshaft.





The bad news is I got my trousers dirty while tightening the wheel bolts back up. Ooops!

I had this on my 1.9 JTD. Knocking/clanging noise when not under load or coming out of/ into load. sounded very scary.
Turned out to be the auxilliary belt bottom pulley. The anti-vibration rubber had perished and it was smacking around on the end stops.
May be worth a look.
