There is a device you can get, sort of like a relay that you can fit behind the glove box panel, that sent a signal to your locks without you having to get anything fancy fitted. You then replace your key with the button doovery. I cant remember the name of it at all (I was meant to get one with some new Marea rear handles but I forgot the name and cant get the handles :p) if you go on fiatboo.co.uk there's a guy on there who knows what its called i think.

The kit was produced By Meta Alarms for Fiat. You simply remove the central locking relay and replace it with the relay in the kit.

Theese kits are no longer produced but they still apear from time to time on E-Bay.

I have bought at christmas the KE27s-Plus, corking little kit. simple to fit, just had a few problems identifying the correct unlock wire in the driver foot well. Sorted in the end with some help on here.
This kit locks/unlocks front doors, flashes indicator lights when it does so, it also has a "find me" option, where you press and hold the lock button on the fob and it flashes the indicators 3 times quite slowly so you can find your car in the dark.
It also has the capacity to operate a remote boot opening modual, it already has the cabling, you just hook into it. Boot opener - same site.
The modual is small enough to fit in the area around the fuse box in the driver footwell and you can can get feeds from the cables in and around the fuse box. you also get a blue flashing LED which is operated from the modual (Plug straight in) so when you lock it, the LED flashes as if you are alarmed, system also arms and disarms if you forget an use the key instead of the fob.
For the price, not a bad kit! only down side they are quite slow to respond to questions, but post was super quick.(y)

Fiat may not have them anymore but they are still produced by META so don't worry. Unfortunately if you want to buy these Fiat specific remote kits then be aware you need to buy them from Italy, they are legit companies just delivery can take upto 2 weeks and make sure your car will accept these kits as im sure they dont fit HLX and HGTs.

Here are the two places

Only downside to the META kits is that the lights dont flash when activating or deactivating the central locking.

Any universal remote central locking kit will work with your car. Just make sure the fob has a rolling code feature.

Well I bought the E-bay one which looks pretty good quality and works on the bench power supply.

My problem is my cars wiring. The cable colours and cables don't match the electrical drawings I have! The drawings show a black, white and light blue cable going to the central locking switch in the door from the central locking control unit. My loom going to the door connector in the car doesn't have these colour cables, only the black (earth).

Think I'll have to track down the control unit which is supposed to be behind the glove box. Anyone have experience of getting behind this
or have different drawings giving the cable colours in the car?

Cables that locked and unlocked my1.2 SX 99T plate bravo where
Lock White/Greystrip
Unlock Blue.
They are quite thin cables, I found them in the drivers foot well, in the loom that goes into the large rubber gromit next to door frame other side of this gromit is the rubber tube where all the cable are that runs into the door.
If you remove the Fuse box (next to driver door in dash) cover as well it gives you a better view and a bit more light.
These wires are very thin, not what I expected to lock and unlock doors but it works a treat.

Hi Thrisey,

That's the wires I've been trying to connect to, by the drivers footwell. I don't seem to have a blue wire on this loom though. I have blue/whi,blue/yell,black/blue and blue/black cables there. There is a small white/grey, so I'll try that for locking. Are you sure the other wire was only blue?

Cheers.

Got it! It's the White/Grey and Blue/Black cables. The remote controller just pulses these to ground. Works a treat! No more struggling to find the keyhole in the dark now! Only £20 delivered, with two remotes. Cool!

Look at Ebay item number 150327317735. Looks like his buy it now price has just gone up, but he also does auction lots starting at the original £15.

All the wiring can be done behind the drivers side fuse cover. Didn't bother wiring the light flasher (anyone know where this could connect to?) or the boot release as this isn't centrally locked.

I might wire the light flasher to a small buzzer instead.

Mine had 2 cables from the locking unit (aftermarket one) which you conected to both right and left indicator cables, this operates the flash ing on lock and unlock but also opertates the "find Me" flashes aswell.
I though of remote boot opening as well you can get a bolt on kit off ebay rclick do them about £16 + post it is a motor and a loom which you remove the cable conection from your internal boot opener and replace with this motor in my case it would wire up to the pink cable in my locking unit.
Glad you got it to work but I must say, my wire is blue only! strange eh how they all seem to be slightly differant.
I don't think you can do Remote start as the security code is rolling inside your key, so your key has to be in the ignition and turned on for the imobo to read the key code, no key/wrong code no start, so remote atart button = no key, so no start, could be wrong but I am sure thats how it basically works.
