I have a Pilote motorhome on a Ducato base 2022 model. The previous owner lost the spare key so I only have the fob. I have ordered a second fob from my Fiat dealer but it has to come from Italy. So far it has been 7 weeks since I ordered and paid for it but the warehouse in Italy says it could be another 5 weeks before it is sent. 3 months to get a key is crazy. If I lost the fob, the vehicle would be laid up all this time.
Has anyone found a way round this? It appears there is a new chip in the fob that only Fiat can program.

There is a guy who attends the Warner motorhome shows who will clone a new fob key for about £150. He needs access to the vehicle to complete the operation. https://www.keywhizz.com/replacement-keys/

PS; Your 2022 model may be fitted with a Secure Gateway protector [SGW] that prevents him being able to access the ECU? He seemed a pleasant guy when I talked to him at a show so I am sure you can ask him.

I have spoken to 3 or 4 local car key specialists and they all said about this new chip in the fob that stops them from programming it. Even the Fiat dealer cannot do it. The factory in Italy pre programs it and then the dealer has to complete the process with the original fob and vehicle. Nearly £400 for this terrible service.

Some branches of Timpsons can make similar clones, but also will require access to the vehicle. The original 2nd key will have a different code in the chip, so not a direct replacement for the Fiat offering. It would be interesting if @Sydh could inform as to the expected charge from Fiat?

As I said, £400. I think it was £280 for the fob and £90 for the dealer programming. Timpsons can't do it.
