Hi, my girlfriend has managed to lose the last key we had for the Multipla. It's doing my head in searching for locksmiths/dealers etc and getting different answers from all. Some say a two week period for dispatch of keys from Italy is required along with a recovery to the main dealer for programming, others say that they can do the job from their van. Prices seem all over the place too, and some of the characters seem very dodgy.

Can anyone catagorically state what the requirements/procedures are? It's a 2001 Multipla and all I want are the non remote keys.

Any advice would be gladly received. I live near Kingston (surrey) so if anyone knows a good contact in the area then this would also be a great help. Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi,
Just had a none remote key programmed at Mangoletsi in Knutsford,Cheshire. You have to take your car in,or the Chasis number, they then get the key cut & sent, mine came from Warrington i think(you will need to pay for the key at this time,as if you dont go back they will have a key thats useless to them), i was charged £90 inc VAT.
I gave them my mobile number and they then contacted me when the key arrived (approx 3-5 days). I booked my car in for the estimated 1/2 hour labour while they "marry" the key to the ECU( i cheekily asked them to look for fault with EGR if they had any of the 30 mins left,,which they did !!).
After paying £30.45 for 1/2 hour labour ...done !!!!!
And there is a fault with EGR, also Crank sensor so i got a bargain and they`re dead helpful and nice Italian tasting coffee....
The remote key is approx £60 more, they confirmed that these were the only 2 keys married to the ECU so if the previous owner still had the other key it would not start the car,

I hope this helps,

Adam

Cheers for the post - getting the car to a garage is going to be a bit tricky but I guess it can be towed once the key is delivered. Sunds like it has to be a dealer and key sent through or nothing!
