a machanic swaped a over heated 1.4 12v for another 1.4 12v but we are using the original ecu. when i turn the egnition the key code light doesnt come on. it used to come on for a few seconds and then disapear. anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

i cant check it yet as the hoses havnt been conected yet. all the electrical parts are conected. i have been told if you start the car without the code light going off it will cut out and it costs £400 to fix, the light doesnt come on at all so i dont know it it has accepted the code or not.

when you try to start the car nothing happens (the starter wont turn) he tryed by shorting the starter which made it turn but we are getting no spark or fuel??? any ideas?
all the nornal lights are workin on the dash board exept the key code?

try Checking the fuse/connections for the immobilizer it happend on mine id say it was imob prob anyway, its just not self testing
