hi there, ive got a bravo 1.8 hlx which yesterday 100 miles from home decided to lock the steering and seize the ignition barrel. i got it recovered home after 5 hours and took to a local garage. they removed (destroyed) the old barrel and steering lock and replaced it with a second hand one ( both have chipped keys), the only problem is they snapped the antenna around the key. does anyone know if i can replace this with a one from the scrapyard and will it pick up the code. they told me that i can tape the old key to the replacement antenna and use the new key, does this sound possible? any ideas as a new ecu etc will be expensive.
many thanks hazworth

hi, yeah they have only charged £20 for the part and fitted it for free coz they broke the antenna, they are going to fit a second hand antenna. fingers crossed as it cost £300 to get it recovered and dont want to spend fortunes fixing it.
