I just wandered in here. I have a fellow wanting to trade me a 1977 124 spider with the 1800 engine. I'm not sure what I'll do with it. He said he went through the transmission (had a gear out) and rebuilt the front end and rear end. About 2 or 3 years ago, he was heading down the road and it started puking oil out the back. He parked it behind his garage. It's right on the cusp of being restored or a parts car. I'll post a more detailed post later along with some pictures. I'll be looking for advice. I haven't worked on many Italian cars, but at least it isn't French. I have worked on those and prefer to avoid them.
