Just Joined and need help

Hi there,
Found this site after web search and it looks really helpful and informative. I have a fiat punto 2000. The head gasket just been replaced but for future reference i'd like to fit a temperetaure gauge so that i can check for any impending doom coming my way. Any one of you guys ever carried out this modification. If so can you please explain how its done.
