yes i am the happy poster , who just got the new palio !

I loved the car for the 6 days I spent it with
today I was going to get my license plates ( car numbers plates )

while on the way

a peugeot 504 ( Old one ) taxi stopped suddenly in the middle of the road ! I was on 60-70 km/h behind him , so I thought i should make a sharp left and evade him , to find that there's a speeding black Kia Cerato blocking my way

kicked down the clutch and brakes pedal to the max ... ABS done its magic
leaving me
without a right headlight
scratched / broken and torn right side of the bumper( loos like some ate it )
scratched / broken and torn right side of the hood ( looks zig zagged )
scratched / broken and torn right part above the right front wheel ( dont know its name , extruded 30-35 cm to the right )

and of course the whole right part requires fresh new paint for a very rare color .

excuse my english and grammar , i am very pissed off

I am very pissed off , the car is not yet under waranty , and i hate my self !

Sorry, Man!
Just a comment,: believe me, once you find the first scratch (or big scratch)on your new car you will feel free to use your car as it, a car. and I think It´s time for MODS...(y)

well I went to Fiat Egypt ( OMATRA ) they said its going to cost arround $850 without the headlight .

so I totaly gave up the idea , and went to a far car service centre ( popular tho ) and he said its going to cost $120 :D and i will buy the headlight which costs arround $90

there's nothing mechanicly or technicaly wrong with the car , just the bodywork .

MODS ? I can hardly pay for the repairs and I am saving to buy a Mp3 player , it doesnt even come with a radio cassette ! just 4 untested unbranded speakers !

to my mind the only mods I think of are
15" rims and Xenon Lights . that's just about it .

Omatra Sucks, they dont have spare parts, dont have good technicians
the overall service is bad, even the selling price is very high according to other cars in the Egyptian Market
they recently launched the new grand punto with 1.4L engine and around 70bhp
for 99000LE very high price for poor old engine.
i would go for the Citroen C3 1.6 for the same price and hell lots of options

Never buy any Fiat in Egypt as long as OMATRA is handling its service and reselling

yes i agree they are very expensive and not as good as previous akhbar alyoum service center i hope that fiat regain to her previous agent in egypt because egyptian like fiat so much but with this new agent i think they will not love it . i have siena 2002 1,4 it perform well with cheep and good previous customer services

well , I just returned from the new OMATRA Fiat Center at " Gesr El Suez " Street , it was really better , and I had a positive experience there ,
They have improved allot I must say , even spare parts has dropped from the last time I checked , my front headlight ( Palio ) used to cost 1250 , now it costs 800 , which is a good thing , same story for alot other parts.

I had an issue with the electric windows , they didn't work properly , I arrived at the center at 2 pm , I received the car at 4 pm , repaired under warranty , cleaned from the inside and out , and I also got a free Report on my cars performance and the usual stuff .

People were allot more friendly and UNDERSTANDING than the last time I visited Omatra , I think we should give them another chance Ahmed , you must also know that OMATRA never was a car dealer , it was an IVECO dealer ( Trailers and such ) so this is new for them as well , Anyways I contacted Fiat months ago , when my Headlight wasnt available at Omatra , and they kindly redirected me to Fiat South Africa , where I was offered a replacement headlight but it did cost the same as here , and it was going to cost even more thanks for shipping , so I skipped the idea .

but now the spare parts are available , even outside Omatra , and I am happy :D

hello guys,
i had sent an e-mail to FIAT italy to complain about bad service i faced in alexandria, and after two weeks, i received a call from OMATRA EGYPT, they were very nice and advised me that all spare parts are now available in "gesr el Suez". and they will open soon in alex. the engineer gave me his e-mail inorder to send him for any requires.

i think fiat will be ok in egypt from now on with OMATRA EGYPT

thanks for the TIP :)
I always brake with the clutch !! and wonder why the car doesnt uniformly responds .. some times it stops .. some times .. it takes more time .

hi dear
i have been visit the center of (gisr el suiz) for fiat cars last week
and they had making what i want in my car and fix it
and the price of the spare part is good :p

Hey guys.

I am considering getting that T-jet Bravo, but am a bit hesident on the decision, it is alot of money and if it is anything like the Lancia when it came to Egypt in the early 90s I will be screwed. Any insider knowledge on reliability and maintenance.

Cheers

Hi you two, I'd suggest posting in the Bravo section for more advice on this, but I have sat in one before and they are very smart, neat looking cars! :) Don't know much about your service centre's though!
