Hi everyone, Newbie here, great site. :)

Have just bought a 53 plate Cargo 1.9JX SX 55,000 mls. Looking forward to the pick up day next Tues 4/12. :D:D:D

Is really clean with one previous keeper. Your site convinced me that it will be up to the job of carrying all my general Gardening, Handyman Dogs body tools about. Have a Jeep Cherokee at the moment and am trading that for the Dobbo.

Thanks for the site again, the info I have read already, will save me scratching my bald patch quite as much.

I live in Dalbeattie Southwest Scotland and the guy was right with his advert. "Fiat Doblo - Its the only one in the car park". Have only seen the local Fire Brigade with a MPV model to date.

Keep looking.

Should be more economical than your Jeep, probably get 50mpg out of the Doblo.(y)

Welcome :D

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Got my Dobbo. Ran fine all the way home topped up with Tesco diesel ! ( Still pondering those post's ) No Problems but feels a little short on power.

What engine will it be? ie its a 1.9D SX Cargo, plated to 1905 KG. It does not look like there is a turbo so that would explain the lack of ooooppppphhh. Can it still be the JTD engine?

Friday morning. Engine management light came on at startup and stayed on. The usual as posted here, white/grey smoke, rough running. Turned it off and on about 5-6 times. It must have got warmed up. The Mgmt Light was off and it was fine again. It has been the same every time it is cold, 1st start. I have read the EGR and MAF threads and it looks and sounds like it may be one of these. I am hoping this is the case.

The EGR is at the front, compared to the photo posted by T, I think. No wires to it.

I bought it from an independant who I have known for a number of years, but this is my first purchase from him ! It is going back in on Tue. He says on the phone that is is going into Limp Mode. I don't think so, but we will see.

Would appreciate any new observations on my Dobbo problems.

It happens every time I change my car I never see my new one. Once I have picked it up. Seen quite a few of them about.

Thanks again. :)

Dobbo Died

Well my Dobbo died  (Cargo SX 1.9 Non-turbo 53 plate 55,400) the other day. I was still getting the EML in the morning no smoke, flick the key but do not start. Then off and on again all lights out start up fine. I moved it 1/2 a mile or so to the local shop. Came out and started with EML on, turned it off then it went dead. Turn the Key, plenty of life in the battery but engine not turning over, nothing no sound.

Could be the ignition switch?

The garage I got it from has recovered it and is putting it into the Fiat Garage in Carlisle.

I am waiting, that is only 2 days in the garage.

Will see how it goes.

Anybody had this before and fault?

Thanks

Still comfy but slow.

Thanks T. Will give it another day then get some info from my salesman/garage owner and see if they have diagnosed anything yet.

Will keep this post updated.

Thanks again.

Hi all

Got my Dobbo back 2 day 21st Jan.

Garage said the only faults recorded related to the starter motor. It had fell to bits hence nothing when I turned the key. They eventually worked out which starter it was (choice of three) and got me a new one. Under warranty from the independant.

The Fiat Dealer and another Autotester my man says he tried cannot find a fault code for the EML coming on first thing, only when cold, no smoke just the limp mode lack of revs. Just a flick of the switch on then off. Then it starts fine I do not even let it fire.

Garage said, Lambda sensor, MAF and the EGR are all okay.

They tell me it is a fault with the security system on the van ? I only have one Blue key. I have been told to use the van and eventually the EML will flash all the time indicating it has registered a code for the fault. May be a week may be a month. It acknowledges the key and the code light goes out.

That sounds like a cop out but I have seen posts where the garage have been stumped and said wait until it breaks. This is not ideal but my independant says when it eventually goes he will fix it (warranty) so I suppose it's as good as I am going to get on my adventure into Dobboland.

Strange that the people who make them can't find all the faults on them?

This might be one of my shortest vehicle ownerships yet. But I do like the seating and comfort in the van. Lots of space in the back. Allround for the short time I have had it Great. Hope it's not going to be a Friday 5 oclock one. Fingers crossed.

Will keep it posted on any changes.

Thanks again
