Just thinking, when i changed my pads the other week, the offside one was worn over 3mm more than the nearside. Shouldnt they wear equally and what would the problem be if there is one?
The drivers side pad was worn that badly that it was in danger of damaging the disc, it was literally flaking off the backing plate, but the passenger side hadnt worn sufficiently enough to set off the indicator. Hence me not noticing they needed changing. If you get me?
OK, so both pads on the same side of the car were worn evenly?
If so you've either got a sticking caliper piston on the drivers side OR some idiot changed one side only.
Check that the piston on the drivers side can be pushed back easily and that when you press and release the pedal you can turn the wheel without too much friction. Should be the same both sides.
It is also worth checking that the caliper slides easily on the caliper bolts. The Bravo set up looks as if it shouldn't sieze but I have seen similar caliper assemblies sticking, resulting in only one pad doing most of the work. The side the piston pushes should be the one with the indicator wire as there is always likely to be fractionally more pressure on this side.
If some idiot only changed one side they need their arse kicked!
The problem was that theres only an indicator on the passenger side pads, but the caliper on the drivers side was quite seized up and messy. I gave it a good rub down and gave it some copper grease in the right places so it might be ok now. I'll give it few weeks and get it back up on my ramps and have alook.
