Hey ya'll, i purchased my 1.4sx 12v bravo a few months back. A 1996 model on an N plate (a fuel guzzler!), the electric blue colour, 17" AZ Hyper Alloys wth low profile Yokohama tyres on it, 10" kenwood sub and kenwood amp, 10 disc kenwood CD multi changer, and a sony CD unit. My bravo has a spoiler with brake light on the back too, bought it for £1800 with 58K on the clock, reasonable? I think so!

Until my timing belt went, bending all 12 valves and breaking the main head costing a total figure of £900. Which is why i say FIAT is an annogram of Fix It Again Tomorrow! Saying all this....i LOVE my bravo, and cant wait till my engine is repaired and back on the road in it!

Greetings fellow bravo driver!

Not wishing to be a total bastard BUT... Fiat recomend changing the cambelt at 72k officially but dealers say 60k now OR 5 years whichever comes sooner.

your car is 7 years old so was 2 years past its recomended cambelt change. Its just a bit of rubber after all, they perish!

Who did the servicing? A main fiat dealer?

Re: Re: Just a hello.

Not sure who done the last service, all the other ones are done by caledonia, but the last 2 have been done by some dodgy backstreet mechanics. I should have got it checked out at first but you learn by your mistakes!

Re: Re: Re: Just a hello.

Bum! Thats the danger of getting it done on the cheap, the miss things like the cambelt being too old.
