Hi there my Fiat 500 registered in Feb 2010 has whilst driving in automatic stopped and gone into neutral. It was checked out at a local garage on the diagnostic machine and nothing was found. Please can anyone assist as I am nervous of driving distances at the moment.

Note that this is a 500L (!) specific forum, so do not expect many answers here ;-)

Yes, he has actually posted this in 'newbie central' but prefixed with 500L which is why it shows up here.

I cant move stuff from that forum but I'll report it to see if someone can move it to the 500 section.

I have a Fiat 500 Pop that does that too. It has done this 13 times in the last 18 months. The last time I was nearly killed by the truck travelling behind me. As the car has only travelled 14,000kms and still under warranty I think I should be able to return it as they say it doesn't happen for them. I'm too scared to drive it now.

if it goes into neutral while changing gear it means something is wrong with the dualogic system and needs to be replaced.

That is outrageous. You should definitely kick up a stink with FIAT until they get the problem fixed permanently.

On another well known forum someone recently asked about buying a 2nd hand 2008 FIAT 500 with Dualogic transmission. I told them hell no!

I haven't had any problems with mine yet but there's no way I would buy an old FIAT with a Dualogic gearbox.
