I bought a 2001 Bravo 80sx a few weeks ago and I've found that if the car's been standing for a while (ie. a few hours) when I pull off, there is a severe juddering and the car almost stalls. I thought it was just me getting used to the car at first but it has happened almost every day now for 4 weeks.

I'm hoping someone might be able to give me a few clues before I take it back to the garage so I can sound like I know what I'm talking about!!

Thanks if any of you can help!!

Clutch judder?

When setting off from cold, when bringing the clutch up to set off the car often judders quite badly. It might do this the first 2 times I set off. Now i have had the car a couple of months it doesnt bother me tho, try giving the car more gas when setting off, and bring the clutch up ever so slowly. This seems to stop it juddering, and will also put some heat into the clutch (as you are slipping it), so the next time u set off you can do so normally.

Hope that helps

judder

Hi Andy
I have an 80SX with 40K miles. It could be a fault like oil on the clutch or even the clutch thrust bearing but we all seem to suffer from it. I needed a new clutch thrust bearing at 35K miles and just before that I was experiencing judder and a few other horrid effects like notchy clutch action and even a metallic twang coming from the clutch housing but even after the new clutch assembly( which it definitely needed)I'm still experiencing judder on occasions. A bit more gas and a bit of slipping gets you over it and then it doesn't do it again for a little while.

It's probably more like an engine mount design problem causing so many people to have it.
