The future Father in law has a marea weekend jtd 105. Now the trouble is it's a little bit slow it's ok and compared to a lot of cars it is nippy however compared to the HGT Bravo he has and the Nissan Primera mk 1 gt it is slow. It is good on motorways and is in fine fettle all sensors airflow etc are working fine.

Now I know these motors are easily remapped. What sort of cost and how much performance increase would this give?

many thanks. :)

Reddot Tuning, Celtic Tuning and the above all do ECU remapping. Make sure you go for the custom map. Prices do vary, they average around £300. Defianately worth the money, and defiantely can keep up with a HGT. :) However the JTD may have an advantage from 0-60. Then the HGT will have the advantage. Lots of torque can be produced from a remap. Puts big smile on your face. However be aware of the clutch issues, high milers may require it being replaced as it'll slip under the extra power.
