Hi all,

im back again with another question :p
after solving the aircon problem i had earlier, i now found another problem.
Since some time i'm getting a dirty rear window. I though nothing of it, since its kind of sandy and rainy, so i just thought i was the weather.
Now i was driving on the motorway yesterday, and had to get out to get something, so i pulled over, kept the engine running, and went to the back of the car and I smelled petrol/diesel. Looked at my rear window, wiped it with my finger, and it was black (never saw this before, lol :s)
So I think the stuff i have on the back of my car is actually some sort of smoke/residue from my engine... The problem i had with my aircon was a faulty fuse, and that fuse also provided glow plug preheating.
I think something is wrong with my car now and dont have a clue where to look.
If i rev it up it doesnt produce any visible smoke, but im 99% sure the stuff on my rear window is not sand/something else.

I'm going to clean my MAF now, maybe that helps, but i think its gonna be something different...

the stuff on the window is dirt/grease off the road.

Dont clean the MAF as if it isnt broke it may well soon be, the only time people clean theirs is when the car wont go above 3000 rpm.

just relax

cheers

im not assuming its broken, its just that when i clean my window, its dirty after 1, maybe 2 days. Thats madness, and i really dont think its roadstuff because i looked underneath my rear, near my exhaust, and found more of the greasy stuff, smelling like diesel. And hellcat, i looked for smoke, but cant find it, the only problem is this: one of my fuses keeps popping -> the aircon fuse, but it;s also a fuse for the glow plug preheating and some other stuff...

hi,

if there is black stuff on your rear, i think it is not normal. mine never have black stuff on the rear.

for diesel engine, pls check your air filter for the start. it needs a lot of air to run. if the air filter is clogged, it might burn a bit rich and causing black smoke.

the other method is drive at night and let other car follow u at about 3m. then step on the gas n see on your rear mirror. u can see smoke easier if there is. good luck.

thanks for the reply. Im also thinking its running too rich because i just looked at my parking spot in front of my house, and saw some greasy stains on the ground, probably diesel or oil... Looked underneath my car, and saw some more of it, so it just probably exhails some unburned diesel (is that possible?)
The strange thing is i dont really noticed a difference in diesel usage or loss of power or something.
its going up for its 200.000 km check, so we'll see :)
