"Fiat 1910 JTD Punto
Wow! Our remap provides somewhere near 125bhp form the original 80bhp without any further modification. Torque is up to over 190 lb ft which makes acceleration very brisk from a standstill, and mid range punch for overtaking with or without dropping down a gear is stunning. The top speed is far more than we would promote but lets just say you will immediately receive a lengthy ban!
The fuel consumption we achieved before the remap was 45.8 mpg on average, after this remap it improved to over 48mpg. We can't understand why it should improve that much as we were expecting it to decrease slightly and will ask people to expect that to occur rather than improve. On one 220 mile round motorway trip (including the M25) we achieved over 52mpg - at an average mph of, well lets just say 70 shall we!
One issue that occurs on a number of standard Punto is with selection issue on the gearbox. We have had no issue with ours in over 4000 miles of hard testing so we think it is a case of if you were going to have problems, the remap is not going to make any difference to this. Lastly all the additional torque may induce a small clutch slip at peak torque on high mileage versions or on clutches that have been "ridden". Our demo car had slip even before we remapped it (28,000 miles - 3 years old) but it hasn't got any worse since.
I took a guy out in a demo who went white after 1/2 a mile and said "OK I think you have proved its quick....can we slow down now"
